The American Chess Institute was founded by Former U.S. Scholastic Champion, Andrew Svehaug. With his extensive experience as a player and coach, Andrew has seen firsthand the incredible benefits that chess can offer to K-8th grade students. He founded ACI to inspire students to enhance their minds, and more importantly, to train them with lasting life skills during these foundational years of their lives.

Our Mission is to teach a young generation to think strategically, equipping them to live successful lives, so that they can lead America and the world into a prosperous and peaceful future.
