Frequently Asked Questions
- What is the Refund Policy?
Due to the committed costs involved in bringing a program to each individual school, we rely on individual registrations to keep the program going. Therefore, it is our policy that after attending class, students will no longer be able to receive a refund.
- Are all classes taught by Andrew Svehaug?
Originally, all classes were taught by Andrew. To help more kids through chess, Andrew has trained several highly qualified instructors to assist him in bringing the ACI training methods to more schools.
- What would you recommend for someone who does not yet know how to move the pieces?
We recommend that these students register for one of our after school classes where we will be able to get them playing in a hurry! If we don't have a chess class at your school yet, fill out a New Class request form and we'll be in touch!
- How much do your programs cost?
We are happy to offer our services at absolutely no cost to the hosting school. Both the Traditional and the Online Program are parent-funded.
Because our pricing varies depending on instructor and location of the school, please contact us to receive pricing information appropriate for your school.
- Do you offer adult classes?
We do not not offer adult classes, as our focus and expertise is in helping K-8th grade students receive the incredible benefits of chess.
- How do we start a program at our school?
Contact us right away! We can help you start an American Chess Institute program at your school within a matter of weeks. This can be started at any time during the school year. Take a look at our Start a Program page for more info on what a program could look like for you!
